So this is the first blog post and I figured it would be appropriate to outline a few goals of mine I wish to accomplish with this blog.
I wanted to make this blog because being gay is difficult and I want to be here to help and offer advice. My advice and stories are different than those you hear from other people because mine are relate-able to the current generation. The world is not the same as it used to be, and the future looks brighter for the acceptance of members of the LGBT community. Therefore there is no reason to be ashamed of who you are and there also is no reason to perpetuate current stereotypes. Just be yourself, and that is the message I hope to deliver.
I'm 19 and still figuring things out for myself. I made mistakes, conquered goals and faced huge obstacles. Most importantly I am still facing obstacles, conquering goals and making mistakes. In a weird way I think that is what makes this blog 'real' and honest. So please, learn from my mistakes, celebrate my accomplished goals and lets work through obstacles together.
This blog, like my own life, needs structure and routine. I am setting up goals for the blog just like I do for my own life. The first goal is a schedule. I would like to post a blog every weekday, until January 1st, 2011. On that date I will make new goals.
Monday - Some sort of list or lists where I rate things or just simply share some of my favourite things.
Tuesday - Tale Time! I'm going to share a story about my life, could be related to being gay, or not.
Wednesday - A videoblog, where you can see and hear me talk about the stuff that matters to me the most.
Thursday - Advice, theories and opinion
Friday - Feature Friday, where I showcase another blog, videoblogger, product, role model or icon.
If you are new to reading blogs, there are some great ways to stay connected and make sure you get reminders when I write a new post. The best way is to use your google account to follow this blog or subscribe to the rss feed. But just in case you don't know how to do those things, bookmark this page.
